Yaanai Mugathaan: A Divine Fantasy Comedy

Yaanai Mugathaan is a 2023 Tamil-language fantasy comedy that brings a unique perspective to the relationship between a devotee and the divine. The plot follows Ganesan (Ramesh Thilak), a debt-ridden auto-driver and an ardent devotee of Lord Ganesha. Despite his religious fervor, Ganesan’s daily life is filled with lies and petty deceptions. His life takes a surreal turn when he realizes he can no longer see the face of the Lord Ganesha idol at his home. Soon, a mysterious man (Yogi Babu) enters his life, leading to a journey of self-reflection and redemption. The story beautifully captures the essence of finding the divine within oneself rather than just in stone idols.
